In the same year, Motion raised $6.5 million. Their second funding round was in 2003 when they raised $11.2 million followed by $25 million in the 2004 Series C round. In 2003, the company presented the M1300, becoming the first 1 Ghz tablet with Intel Centrino mobile technology. The M1400 upon its release in 2004, became the first 12-inch slate tablet with a View Anywhere display.

However, in April 2015, the company was obtained by Xplore Technologies Corp. for $16 million. At that time, Motion Computing was a second-leading provider of rugged tablet PCs in the world.
